Gateway Repeater Group

Gateway Repeater Group was formed to develop a system of D-Star enabled repeaters with remote gateway connections that utilize X-reflectors running on local networks to undermine internet connectivity dependance. The system will allow D-Star repeater linking without the need of repeater site network presence and gateway site internet connections.

The D-Star network, as is, has a large internet dependance. This dependance is a vulnerability that some consider unacceptable. Gateway Repeater Group aims to eliminate this vulnerability.

Currently, Gateway Amateur Radio Club and KC4TUK is hosting a 70cm D-Star repeater in Stanton, KY and a 70cm D-Star only repeater in Mount Sterling, KY as well. These two repeaters are the first repeaters to have been successfully linked using the Gateway Repeater Group network model via an XLX Reflector.
